Thank you for choosing Dr Shyam Makanjee Incorporated. Our practice is committed to providing you with a superior level of care. With a dynamic team at hand and a fully equipped clinic, we are able to aid all patients with all the necessary care and comfort.

We are dedicated to a high level of excellence in every aspect of our practice. This includes the care we provide, the equipment we use, the health and safety protocols we follow and the incidental services we offer. Above all, our aim is to provide each of our patients with an optimal eye health care experience.

We firmly believe that patient education is an important part of the services we provide. It is a key part of preventing a health care problem from progressing. In addition to speaking with our patients during their consultations, we have a ready supply of patient education materials such as brochures and information sheets available. We encourage our patients to read about their condition and ask us questions about how to stay healthy.

We are particularly proud of the relationships that we establish with our patients Dr. Makanjee and his team are focused on maintaining your trust and confidence. We are especially honoured that our patients have referred so many of their friends and relatives to our practice. We look forward to making lasting relationships with every patient we meet.

Mondays – Fridays: 08h00 to 17h00

Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays: Closed

Appointments / Cancellations

Patients are seen by appointment only. We try our best to render a service at the set times appointed. In the event of emergencies, which may be unforeseen in most cases, we will if possible notify you should we run late but in these circumstances we ask for your consideration.

If you cannot keep an appointment, we request that a 24 hours’ notice be given via email or telephone. This makes it possible for us to give that appointment time to another patient. Patients arriving more than 20 minutes late and without notification will be requested to reschedule their appointment.


In case of a life threatening emergency, please call your nearest emergency unit.  Our office has an answering service which cannot notify the doctor for urgent messages.  For refills on medications, please call your pharmacy or the office during office hours for a repeat script.

Accepted Medical Plans and Payment Methods

Our practice accepts most major medical plans. Should we not be a DSP with your medical plan, but your plan allows out of network benefits, our office staff will assist you with the necessary paperwork so you can receive reimbursement directly from your medical aid and or insurance company.We accept cash, VISA and MASTERCARD debit and credit cards. It is the responsibility of the patient to ensure that our practice is on your chosen network option and that your accounts are settled as per our practice terms and conditions.

Patient Forms

To save time, we recommend you complete the forms prior to your first visit. It is important that the information you provide is accurate and true, we will rely on this data to diagnose and treat you. Please advise us whenever there is a change of address, telephone number or medical aid coverage.
